In January 2015, I moved from my position as an Ironton aLive director to chairwoman. This was exciting because this is truly a great organization. To be given the opportunity to chair it was and is a gift.
What makes Ironton aLive great is its members, but also the community that has shown great support for everything that Ironton aLive is working hard to accomplish. We are a highly active organization, as our members are always busy doing something. We host Business After Hours events for Ironton’s business owners and managers to network. We also have the Tuesday Night Concert Series (now called the Glockner Concert Series), Taste of Ironton, The Ironton Heritage Festival, a new Farm to Table fundraising event, The Ohio River Wine Festival, business training seminars, scavenger hunts, Christmas concerts, Small Business Saturday events, and we encourage shopping local because local dollars are what drive the improvement within the local economy.
In addition to our events, we are an integral part of the visual and economic enhancement of Ironton to make it more marketable. We assist other local organizations where we are needed and we are striving to become a prime resource for all things Ironton.
I am very proud of this organization and everyone in it. I am proud of the people of Ironton for their enthusiasm, encouragement, and support. None of the improvements occurring within our city is possible without the people in it.
Thank you and let’s continue making Ironton everything we know it can be.
Chairwoman, Ironton aLive
